Imagine it's the year 2050. What does the world look like? How have technology, society, and the environment changed?

It was the year 2050; the world, with immense alteration in technology, society, and environment, changed completely. Everybody moved in either electric self-cars or, for some time, even hover cars that run much quicker but cleaner ways. Cities were very green; huge buildings lined their streets and made the atmosphere easy to breathe because they covered with greenery outside. Technology has made life easier with robots doing tasks like cleaning and delivering groceries, while people use virtual reality to go to school or work from home. Society is more connected because everyone can communicate with people from all over the world instantly. People care more about the Earth, using renewable energy like solar and wind power to reduce pollution, and we’ve figured out ways to recycle almost everything. The world feels a much better place, both for the people and for the planet!

Imagine writing a letter to yourself 10 years from now. What advice, hopes, or reminders would you include?

Hello, Future Me I hope you are doing great, living a life you're proud of! Just a few things I want to remind you: don't let life get too stressful, take things one step at a time. Hope you still chase your dreams, do what makes you happy, even if it's not always easy. Don't forget to take care of yourself, both physically and mentally. Surround yourself with good people, don't lose contact with the things that make you laugh. Most importantly, it's okay to mess up sometimes; that's just part of growing. Keep going-you got this!

Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

There was one point in time where I had to take a break from video games because I was spending too much time on them; it started affecting my schoolwork. I wasn't doing as great in class, and I was falling behind on assignments. When I stepped back and focused a lot on my homework, I did better in school. It helped me understand the better balancing between fun and responsibilities, understood that sometimes it's okay to have a break to focus on things.

Write about something that you heard that you wish you could unhear.

One thing I wish I could unhear was when my cousin told me that our family dog wasn't going to be around much longer. I had no idea, and it hit me hard because I love that dog so much. I tried to act like it didn't bother me, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. After she told me that, every time I saw her, I became so sad and didn't know what to say. I wish I didn't hear it because it gave me a great deal more to worry about; I simply wanted to enjoy the time we had remaining without feeling sad.

Write about a moment when you felt you had the power to make a difference in someone else's life

One time I can think of in which I made a difference was that my classmate was nervous when she had to present a project to the class, as she was kind of shy. She didn't think she could stand in front. I could sense that she really freaked out with that, so then I offered help with her preparation. We prepared her presentation together, where I told her, "Baby, it doesn't matter; sometimes people can have mistakes in everything. She did so much better than she thought when it was her turn, and afterward, she smiled and said, "I couldn't have done it without you." I knew that was a great thing I did; she was not as scared and felt more confident.

Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why

I feel most at ease when I sit in the cozy nook of my room, wrapped up in soft blankets with a good book in my hands. It's silent, and all I can do is lie back quietly without distractions. I especially like how peaceful it makes me feel, with the lights dim and everything in their places. It's like a place where I can clear my mind, get lost in some story, or simply enjoy being alone for some time. Nobody bothers me here, and I can just focus on what makes me happy and keeps me calm.

Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

In 10th grade, I was in guitar class and it was time for me to present my assignment to the teacher. The problem was that I hadn't practiced it unlike my past assignments, I was quite disappointed in myself once presenting my inadequate performance. My teacher was able to catch onto my own self loathe and nervousness at that time and said to me, "you're too hard on yourself". Those words have echoes in my head many times since then and I think about it a lot. Being not as hard on myself as I had been before has relieved stress in many occurrences and has helped deeply.

Write about an object that holds sentimental value and why it’s important to you.

An object that holds sentimental value to me is the dog bed of my old dog that passed away. This was a pet I was quite close to and that had died suddenly. He had gotten a disease that was common in his breed and I remember sitting there at the Animal ER with him as he had gotten very sick over the course of a couple of days. In the end, the vets couldn't do much so they advised us to euthanize him and so we did. This dog bed is one of the few things we have left to remind us of him. And that's why it's quite important to me.

Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

A moment I had to step out of my comfort zone was when a friend asked me to play guitar at his birthday party. I had never played in front of a crowd and so I was reluctant to do it but in the end I agreed. If he had asked me this maybe a year prior, I would've most likely said no to his request. Though my part to play was short, I found myself nervous but also excited and even eager to play more than planned. And so I played my part and it went well, but more importantly, I had fun. I now seek to do something like it again sometime soon as I very much enjoyed it.

Write about a dream that felt real.

Once, I had the scariest dream, as if it were true. It was like I was in my school cafeteria, eating with all my friends. Suddenly, it started shaking, and I felt it like a little rumble. The building started swaying, and I could feel vibrations in the floor beneath my feet, with lights flickering above my head. Everybody was screaming; even I could hear the heartbeat in my chest. I tried to get up and run, but the door stuck, and I felt trapped. The screaming of people was so loud it almost burst my ears. Just then, I woke up, lying in my bed, relieved. It was just so vivid and intense that it almost felt like I had actually experienced it.

Summarize your holiday break. In addition, write about 5 personal goals that you want to achieve in 2025. Explain why you chose those goals.

Over the break I pretty much just stayed home throughout it all except for Christmas eve, which was when I went to visit my aunt. At my aunt's house is where we celebrated Christmas and exchanged gifts, in which I only received clothes.  One goal I have for myself this year is to be more productive. Though some of it is pertaining to school work, it also means applying to more colleges, applying to jobs, getting my drivers license, and more. To be honest, I don't have much of a plan for achieving this goal other than to just simply do it.
