 Today we read more from "Fences". We learned that even after having a baby with another woman, Troy still lives in the house with Rose, and near the end of our reading, Cory gets kicked out of the house. I think Cory will be better off away from Troy as he slowly destroys his family. Today I am just overtly excited that it's finally Friday.

 Once, I had the scariest dream, as if it were true. It was like I was in my school cafeteria, eating with all my friends. Suddenly, it started shaking, and I felt it like a little rumble. The building started swaying, and I could feel vibrations in the floor beneath my feet, with lights flickering above my head. Everybody was screaming; even I could hear the heartbeat in my chest. I tried to get up and run, but the door stuck, and I felt trapped. The screaming of people was so loud it almost burst my ears. Just then, I woke up, lying in my bed, relieved. It was just so vivid and intense that it almost felt like I had actually experienced it.

Write about a fear you have overcome.

I used to have a real fear of public speaking, so much so that I'd get a dry mouth and shaky hands just thinking about speaking in front of a group. But over time, I realized the only way to get past it was to actually do it. I stopped overthinking it, and with time, the anxiety began to fade. I now have little to no problem standing in front of a crowd where my heart isn't racing like before, and though I'm nervous once in a while, there's a lack fearful. Overcoming this fear not only made me much more confident in my communications but also made me aware that many times our fears are just things that can easily be pushed through with practice.

"Two Kinds"

 Today, we finished reading "Two Kinds" from The Joy Luck Club.  In doing this activity, I learned about the competitiveness within Asian immigrant families, but I also learned how that characteristic can apply to other cultures as well. I liked this activity because I think the book is enjoyable and gives great perspective, in particular with this part of the book, it shows how pressure and demands of an immigrant family may affect a child's way of thinking. On Friday, my family and I will be leaving for the beach, but I'm not very excited about it as we have visited the beach plenty of times before. Instead, I've been quite reminiscent of the concert I went to last week, I've been looking back at the videos I took and wishing I could still be experiencing euphoria.
